Student Programs
Red Raider Camp

Red Raider Camp is an exciting program for first-year Texas Tech students, which introduces them to the traditions and culture that make Texas Tech University unique. Six annual sessions of the camp are held and in Junction, Texas, at the Texas Tech Campus. The students who attend for the three-day, two-night event have fun, develop new relationships and needed skills to be successful once they arrive on campus. They also learn what it means to be a true Red Raider. The Red Raider Camp experience helps to ease the transition into university life and provides campers an opportunity to create a support network within the Texas Tech community.

The Alumni Association has been actively involved in Red Raider Camp since its inaugural sessions in 2001. From the financing of construction of a pavilion and new cabins to sending personnel to attend and speak to campers, the Alumni Association strongly supports these camps and views its support as a valuable investment in the future of Texas Tech.

If you know future Red Raiders, please tell them about Red Raider Camp and encourage them to attend. Early research results show that students who attend the camps make higher grades, are more involved and feel that the camp benefited them greatly.
