The TTAA Benefit Card: Saving and Giving Have Never Been Easier
If saving money and charitable giving are on your list of New Year’s resolutions, the Texas Tech Alumni Association has you covered. Our TTAA Benefit Card saves you money and supports the Alumni Association in its mission to fund important academic, administrative and scholarship programs at Texas Tech.
Launched in February of 2009, the TTAA Benefit Card offers benefits from identity theft protection to roadside assistance to medical discounts, and the Alumni Association receives royalties for program participation. Benefit packages start at just $9.85 per month. Red Raiders save money and support their school at the same time.
Brent Ross, Associate Vice President of Marketing for the Alumni Association, is not only responsible for administering the program, he’s a charter member.
Ross has three young children and his family frequently uses the Teladoc benefit. He says the card pays for itself every year in benefits.
Teladoc provides 24/7/365 access to a national network of U.S. board-certified doctors who can resolve many medical issues via phone or online video consultations. Teladoc doctors can diagnose, treat and prescribe medication, when necessary, for medical issues including cold and flu symptoms, allergies, bronchitis, sinus problems, urinary tract infection, respiratory infection, pink eye and ear infections.
“Anytime you can avoid a trip to the doctor for a simple illness, it’s worthwhile,” Ross says. “Especially in a family with three young children and two working parents … when one of us gets sick, it usually runs through all of us.”
